Continuous Improvement by Newsletter

It's time to take a look at how we communicate with our members.

One of the first steps for us is a survey, which was sent our via e-mail to members on July 5.

We want to know how you want to hear from us.

Four years ago this month, we began making greater use of the Internet to get the word out about the fine work of our volunteers and staff in the community. We used a simple e-mail format to keep members up to date on chamber events, deadlines, new features, member services and other pertinent information.

The response was positive. "I never know how much the chamber did for the community," said one member.

Earlier this year, we abandoned our simple e-mail approach and turned to Constant Contact to help us get our weekly newsletter out quickly and efficiently.

But we still do a print newsletter. It used to be a monthly, but cost and efficiency have turned it into a quarterly. We use this newsletter to augment our e-mail blasts, Web site, Facebook page, radio and newspaper stories and this blog to get the word out to members.

It's time to make some changes in how we get information out to members. And our members get to help us make the decisions.

Members, check your e-mail! On Tuesday, your received a link to a survey under the subject line "Tell Us What You Like..."

That's what we want you to do. Tell us what you want in a newsletter and how you want us to communicate with you. Input from members is important to us.
